Cairns Burnouts Event Rules
There will be zero tolerance on any and all of these rules. Anyone with a blatant disregard for the rules will be asked to leave the event and risk being banned from future events.
General Rules.
- No person is permitted on the in-field at any time other than event staff, registered drivers, registered passengers or those provided with a media pass by event management.
- All drivers and passengers are to remain with their vehicle at all times whilst on the in-field and not wander around needlessly.
- No BYO alcohol at any area inside the grounds what so ever. If we find it we will confiscate until the event is over.
- No alcohol to be in the pits or in-field at any time.
- No drugs.
- No glass.
- No pets.
Vehicle, driver & passenger rules.
- All drivers and passengers must be registered. Passengers do not need to pay to ride in burnout cars but must register.
- All drivers and passengers must be 16 years or older. NO CHILDREN.
- Any person caught doing a burnout or behaving in an inappropriate manner in the pits or speedway grounds will be asked to leave the event and banned from future events without refund.
- Drivers & Passenger(s) must wear an approved helmet, long sleeve shirt and pants and covered foot wear.
- Drivers & Passenger(s) must remain in their vehicle while the vehicle is on the burnout pad unless instructed by an official. No persons are to hang out the windows or you will be sent off the pad immediately.
- Drivers must have zero blood alcohol reading. If we believe you've been drinking you will be refused entry to the burnout pad. Breathalyzers will be present at events.
- Drivers & Passengers must wear a seat belt while in their vehicle.
- Vehicles must pass scrutinizing at each and every event.
- Vehicles must not spin the wheels or unnecessarily drive on the go-kart track at any time.
- No antics on the Speedway track.
- 10km/h speed limited throughout the entire Speedway grounds.
- Any dangerous or out of control driving (eg, repeated hitting of barriers) will result in a red light.
What do I need to check on my car before I can compete?
Scrutinizing will be carried out at each event by our event scrutinizer. All decisions are final and made for the safety of event staff and yourself. All questions and concerns should be made to our team prior to the event.
- Battery must be secure.
- No loose/dangerous objects to be left in the car.
- Rear tyres must be covered with guards or tray.
- No split rims.
- Throttle return spring must be secure.
- Passenger compartment must be completely sealed from the engine bay, and any fluid lines/tanks. ie, Firewall must be complete/intact with no holes.
- Car must have a windscreen.
- No holes in the car floor pan.
- No excessive oil/trans/steer/brake fluid leaks.
- NO FUEL LEAKS, INCLUDING FUEL TANKS.
- Front brakes must be in good working order.
- Car must be structurally sound at the discretion of the scrutinizer.
- No wheel weights on rear wheels inside or out.
- No broken wheel studs or missing wheel nuts.
- Overflow bottle must be fitted.
Vehicle Classes
There are five (5) competition classes. These include the 4 cylinder, 6 cylinder, 8 cylinder, open and ladies class.
Ladies class - Any vehicle that is driven by a female competitor be it a 4, 6, or 8 cylinder or powered by a rotary.
4cyl class - Any vehicle with a 4cyl or rotary fitted.
6cyl class - Any vehicle with a 6cyl fitted.
8cyl class - Any vehicle with a 8cyl fitted.
Open Class - The OPEN CLASS is a special class for competitors that have a forced V8 (nitrous, super/turbocharged). Additionally, any non-factory optioned V8 will also be classed as an open vehicle.
Competitors from the 8 cyl class that emerge as a regular competition winner will be pushed to step up and compete in the open class.
Optionally vehicles in the 8cyl class may also step up to the open class voluntarily if they think they have what it takes!
